If you are coming on vacation or on a business trip to Albufeira without your own vehicle you will necessarily need to use the local transportations to move around and discover part of the surroundings.
Below we describe the existing possibilities to travel within the Algarve in a practical, safe and affordable way during your stay in Albufeira

Regional and Local Buses

EVA Transrápido

EVA is a regional transport network with a central station inside the city and does daily trips and express services within the Algarve region and the rest of the country, and also to Spain (Seville).

"Transrápido" (TR) line - Direct bus line running across the Algarve from Lagos to Albufeira and from Albufeira to Faro and up to Vila Real de Stº António (Spanish border).

In case you wish to travel from Faro airport to Albufeira, you will first need to catch the local urban bus (no. 14 or 16) to Faro bus terminal and from there get on the next bus to Albufeira bus terminal (at Caliços).
More information is available at the Tourist office at the airport. From 7am to 8.30 pm (for airport trip)

There are several other lines, like the "Linha Litoral" and "Get On" for Airport shuttle (also run by "Frota Azul") linking most of Algarve towns and having different stops across Albufeira area (Olhos de Água, Balaia, Oura/Santa Eulália, Areais de São João, Albufeira Shopping, Algarve Shopping, Guia, Zoomarine).
