It was 1.066 on Tuesday, didn't look yesterday. As the sticky at the top of this page says, it is always two or three cents less to the pound for cash here than in the UK.

You may get 1.085 Billjo but be careful I hear it's in Spanish escudos.

The Spanish are opening exchange booths on the strip, they were changing dustbin lids for bottle tops.
10 Bottle tops = 1 dustbin lid

Well it was 1.21 (full rate) back in September, went down to 1.124 in October but has been rising slowly ever since to today's 1.174.

Don't get too gleeful - even if it stays on the up, the increases in the £ to € rate will be more than swallowed up by the forthcoming Portuguese VAT rises and 'adjustments' due in January.

Hello folks
Just found this forum, coming out Friday for a long weekend. Would appreciate if anybody is passing a money exchange tomorrow if they could let us know what the curent rate is in Albufeira so we can see if we are better off getting Euros before we leave.
Cheers
