If you are a member of Facebook there we a few sites that advertise long term rentals. Algarve houses to sell or rent is one of them. Most houses are in Albufeira.

Just my tuppence worth but as you are looking for the 6 months covering the summer season maybe better looking for 12 months rental?? Most likely not much more price wise. Try OLX.pt online advertising magazine. Good luck

Hi Tonisdad, we are trying all angles and have tried for 12 month rentals too. Found that site you mentioned last night actually and have made a few enquiries, hopefully hear some good news soon. Thanks again.

When I'm over I regularly play golf with a group of around 30 long term renters from various Countries - UK, Ireland, Holland, Norway etc. Some stay 6 months, some longer.
The majority of them rent apartments or vilas in Balia Golf Village, just a 5 minute bus ride from central Albufeira. |

Try somewhere outside Albufeira if being in the middle of this town is not essential. You may have better luck somewhere not touristy. These rentals are sometime more amenable to animals especially if they are well behaved. There are a few long term rentals near where I live who have animals.

Thanks Chloe, yeah we are looking at surrounding areas too as said in my original post. Hopefully something turns up. If you dont mind me asking where are you based as it sounds promising if owners there allow dogs? |
