Seen a good deal for August for varandes de albuferia, can anyone shed some light on this apart hotel (self catering)

What are your concerns? Location is about 2 minutes walk from a shopping centre with large supermarket open 12 hours a day 7 days a week, so you will have no problems in that area. Old town and beach 10 - 12 minutes walk, one fairly steep uphill bit on the way back. Recent reviews on Trip Advisor are not encouraging - see https://www.tripadvisor.co.za/Hotel_Review-g189112-d305388-Reviews-Varandas_de_Albufeira-Albufeira_Faro_District_Algarve.html Don't go all inclusive! It is cheap and nasty.
