I’m in Tenerife at the moment, high street exchange for cash is 1.145, 1.15 for over £1000. I’m paying with my card as much as possible as they are giving me 1.17 👍🏼

Just bought a few at this rate and I will buy some each month, depending on the rate. Not visiting this year (new bath room took priority) so I have about 18 months to save up unless I win the lottery.

Earwig-o. These are the commercial rates for 7th January each year, rounded to two decimal places. Source exchange-rates.org.uk 2010 - 1.11 2011 - 1.20 2012 - 1.22 2013 - 1.23 2014 - 1.21 2015 - 1.28 2016 - 1.33 fell off a cliff later that year to 1.07 2017 - 1-16 Today's rate as of the time of this post 1.20

A useful barometer over the years is the conversion of my £10 Christmas bonus from Her Majesty : 2017 - €11.27 2018 - €11.20 2019 - €11.04 2020 - €10.90 2021 - €11.71 In the past year the value of € to the £ has therefore increased by around 7.5%
