A sunny day has dawned and we could have 23º even 24º later. Temperature at 0805am is 18.1º, wind is very light, currently from the north-east but will swing around to come from the south during the day. It will be a fairly warm night as well, no lower than 16 or 17º but it will be windier. The next few days will be fairly warm also, cloudy at times, but staying dry.

Cloudy and quite windy this morning. There is a a yellow warning for rough sea. Temperature at 0740am is 16.8º. It's going to be fairly windy all day, warm air from the south-east. Maximum Temperature 20 or 21º. Should stay dry. It will be a very warm night, not below 18 or 19º, but still windy. Tomorrow will be less windy, but cloudy. And a bit warmer, perhaps 22 or 23º and the next few days including the weekend will see little change.

It's rather misty this morning. Temperature at 0845am is 17.9º, wind is very light. It's going to be misty and cloudy mostof the day, maybe the odd sunny bit. Maximum temperature 21 or 22º. The wind direction is going to change and come from the north over the weekend and days to follow. Daytimes will still be sunny and fairly warm, but nights will be colder. Not too windy though and no rain is forecast for several days yet.

It's a little cloudy this morning and will probably be cloudy all day. Temperature at 0807am is 15.4º, wind is light, from the north. A calm day ahead, fairly warm with maximum temperature 21º when the sun breaks through the cloud. Staying dry. Tonight will be around 16 or 17º at midnight, falling to 13 or 14 in the small hours. Sunday and Monday could be a little warmer and it should be fairly sunny and dry right through the week. Nights will be colder though.

Another warm and sunny day ahead, much warmer than this time of year should be. Temperature at 0925am is 14.1º but that's soon going to rise to 23, maybe 24º this afternoon. There won'tbe much wind at all, just a light breeze all day. (Yesterday's high here was 24.8º, at Portimão it was even hotter at 26.4º.) Tonight the temperature will fall to 13 or 14º. It will be a little cooler tomorrow and much cooler on Wednesday, ahead of what looks like being three or four rainy days.

Another bright sunny day for us but not so warm as it has been. Maximum today 21º, with very light winds. Temperature at 0755 is 13.0º. Cold air is wafting down from the north, so it will be colder tonight also, down to 10 - 12º. And tomorrow colder still, we might have 17º, it will be cloudy and windy. Rain is heading our way for Thursday and possible for several days thereafter.

A bit cloudy this morning but not too bad otherwise. It's not all that warm though, temperature at 0740am is 13.1º. There's a moderate breeze from the north east. It will be a fairly sunny day, but in the cold wind the temperature won't get above 17º, much colder than the last few days. Tonight it will drop to around 12º. Tomorrow will be a cold and rainy day. There is a yellow warning for heavy rain during the morning. There will be a steady wind from the south and south-east, generated by an area of low pressure off to the south-west. Temperature again no more than 17º. Friday could be even wetter and windier, especially during the morning and early afternoon when there is a second yellow flag for more heavy rain.

Update 1215pm- 15 minutes of intense rain, stopped now, has produced localised flooding, including our back pathway resulting in some water coming in to all three apartments. Luckily no damage but another 5 minutes of that rain and there would have been. That water is about 6cm deep, just before it overflowed the door sill. Some bailing out was needed. I knew that dustpan would come in useful for something! Water gone now, waitingfor it to dry before attacking with cleaning mops. Flood water isn't clean and is very smelly. One eye on the sky though, there is a nasty looking cloud out on the horizon. Update 1045am - absolutely chucking it down with occasional flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder. Skies are grey, we have had some showers and rumbles of thunder during the early hours. Temperature at 0715am is 12.8º, wind is light from the east. The radar shows a large area of stormy weather over to the east, which does look like it will miss this area. We are though almost certain to get showers right through the day and into the evening. Some could be heavy. Maximum temperarure 17or 18º. It could also be raining all day tomorrow, on and off, then more rain into Friday night and Saturday morning.

There are many videos on Facebook showing the extent of the damage to the old town. It's pretty bad. Very sad to see the streets all washed away and all the businesses flooded out. The storm further inland where I am was bad enough. The thunder was louder than I've ever heard in my life, it made the whole house shake. Ventured into Silves this afternoon and no evidence of any damage there so I think the worst of it was very localised and sadly it was the old town yet again :-(

I was in the old town last night. Many places are closed anyway for the winter but for those open it was business as usual. Damage is slight, compared with the events of a few years ago. If the council unblocked the drains and ditches on the higher ground, it would help. The new storm drain under construction is designed for this type of event. The official weather station recorded 4.1mm of rain during the event. In Olhão there was nearly three times that amount. Sagres was the wettest place in Portugal yesterday, with 23.2mm (nearly an inch) of rain recorded over a two hour period. As for today, there is an orange alert for possible heavy rain across the region. It's not raining here at the moment, but the radar shows stormy weather coming our way from the south where the sky is very grey. Temperature at 0820am is 16.4º, wind is light. It will be a lot windier later. The rain could continue through the night and into Saturday morning. It should be more pleasant after that.

Pretty stormy last night, 16.9mm of rain recorded in two hours between 1930 and 21309, but nowhere near as intense as the rain on Thursday. Today is calm! Temperature at 0800 is 15.9º, wind is moderate and from the east. There are one or two light showers lurking around, but any should pass by lunchtime. Maximum temperature 21º, but might feel cooler in the steady wind. This evening and tonight should be dry and not too cold, 16 or 17º. Tomorrow will cloudy, but warm at 22 or 23º, dry and less windy. Next week will be fairly warm with the wind coming up from the south, but there will be chance of showers just about at any time. Wednesday and Thursday look like being the best days to be out and about.

A warm morning but cloudy. Temperataure at 0845am is 16.9º, wind is light. It will be cloudy alll day, but if the sun breaks through we could have 21 or 22º this afternoon. There is a small chance of a shower or two. It will be warm again tonight, no lower than 15º. Monday and Tuesday will be slightly cooler, with very little wind but with a higher possibility of some rain. The rest of the week should be fairly nice. In terms of recent rain, Albufeira got off very lightly. The town of Olhão, east of Faro, recorded a total of 91.3mm (about 3.5 inches) of rain on Friday and Saturday. Roads were flooded and a landslide blocked the railway in the area. That has now been cleared.
