Yes, the old one discharged across the beach whenever a severe thunderstorm came across. Not sure why the repairs retain the same method.
The last time I saw this happening one of the lifeguards sprinted to the flagpole and lowered the blue flag much to the amusement of onlookers. |

Another change. It’s not long ago they did the other one. Then it was modified more on the beach, lining the trench with rocks. Have they dug up the road again.

An excavator was working, closing one side of the road. There were some more of those concrete tunnel segments waiting to be placed in the channel being fashioned where the arch can be seen. On the other side of the road it is still basically a dry river bed.
