Albufeira marina seond phase area Friday 10th May

A nice sunny day. Very busy in the restaurants and bars.

Out behind the great wall, a few more million Euro houses are under construction. The little park is still locked, but I did see chaps mowing the grass and trending to sprinklers. It is a mighty mystery why it has been kept closed for so long, all the while money is being spent to maintain it. Elsewhere, it's weeds and general desolation.

Tom if you look out of your window you will see the Park is being kitted out with a stage, a couple of temporary seating structures and  a 20 feet tall Panda.

No I've not been drinking, (yet anyway) on Saturday there will be a Panda Kids TV spectacular featuring all your favourite characters from Panda TV (It's a PT Kids Channel).

Rock on Tommy!

More new building near the little park, which is starting to look a somewhat neglected. Some pictures were taken from up on the hill near the water tower.

Most of the properties in this block are now complete and occupied. Those to the left are under construction. The market site is in front, with the temporary stands and the green roofed stables for the equestrian show visible.

General view of the marina and the ridge behind.

More land is being cleared for more very expensive houses. Where will they get their servants from? No-one less than a millionaire will be able to afford to live here soon!

Work continues apace with another large area being cleared for €1 million houses.

This the area

Meanwhile, the little park is no longer being looked after. No money to be made after all.

It does look like some maintenance has been done in the little park, but it is still locked and bolted. Nearby, work continues on building several mansions. But in the main piazza, weeds are in control.

Buit work on this one has stopped.

And a brave little flower.

Up above, on the cliff to the east, I bet this would cost you a few bob!

Tuesday 27th May. Plenty of activity! Workers busy cementing on the one I thought had stopped. Out of shot a JCB was busy digging away.

Just up the road...

New plots being levelled.

This little tent in the otherwise closed park houses a Digital Nomad workshop and meeting.

All the activity is in stark contrast to weed strewn wasteland nearby.

This construction is taking place at the foot of the ramped road that leads down into the marina, which is now blocked. Judging by what been stacked further up the hill, it looks to be drainage installation but do I see an extension being formed to the Great Wall of Albufeira? It certainly lines up.

And the boats in the marina, all bright and shiny.

The Great Wall Of Albufeira extension, I Like it. Apparently there are going to be 22 new villas on that piece of land to the South. There will be steps there to enable occupants of said houses to get down to the marina. This is inspite of the fact that the one thing they don't seem able to do is build steps well. The ones to the west that border the recently built villas have subsided, been repaired and subsided again.

Good to see the little park getting some use. After the Digital Nomads, a sound stage. I don't know what for and there was no sign, but obviously something that the orgainsers don't want anyone to see without paying!

Elsewhere, building work continues.
