Looking very nice after a makeover. It's next to the Inatel hotel for those that don't know and I think would fetch a pretty sum if on the market.  |

Does anyone know the history of this place, I always wondered if it used to be the Sardine Factory manager's house or maybe in some way connected to the sardine factory?

Before it was renovated we always thought it looked like the house from the film Psycho.

It was built in 1938. According to a response here to a similar question in May 2018, it was a guest house or hotel for the upper echelons of Portugal's ruling elite (this was the time of the military government) while the workers stayed at the Inatel next door. If you do a search 'Chalet Santa Rita Albufeira' you will find quite a few items that seem to confirm this. Probably now to become a high end airbnb or similar!
