It was built in 1938. According to a response here to a similar question in May 2018, it was a guest house or hotel for the upper echelons of Portugal's ruling elite (this was the time of the military government) while the workers stayed at the Inatel next door.

If you do a search 'Chalet Santa Rita Albufeira' you will find quite a few items that seem to confirm this.

Probably now to become a high end airbnb or similar!

Looking very nice after a makeover. It's next to the Inatel hotel for those that don't know and I think would fetch a pretty sum if on the market.
