Elaine I know some do down St Eulalia/Oura area  through the winter months but not sure of old town area. We have friends who stay for 3 months or more in private accommodation and hotel apartment complexes during winter and from  what they seem to say the price is good the longer they stay. Hopefully someone will come up with an answer.

Although it's the opposite side of town to me I must say Praia da Oura always seems to be busy in the winter months, apparently with long term guests. I happened to be over that way last night and there were loads of folk in the front bar and looming about outside.
we're not brazil we're norn iron

We spent a wonderful Christmas and New Year in Albufeira again.

I was speaking with an old couple on the beach on Christmas morning and they were stopping at the Clube Praia de Oura for just over three months. They said it cost just under £1600 for the two of them and that was including all flights and transfers etc.

Balaia Prestige , Albufeira ?
Many villa owners- like me -offer Winter months ,at a greatly reduced price . You get a home ,rather than an hotel room , with modern kitchen ,washer/drier/microwave/dishwasher etc and usually a terrace/rear patio ,BBQ ,loungers. You have all the comforts and space of home and can experience actually "living "in the Algarve .Instead of "living " in an hotel room . I run a FB page Winter Renter Algarve that has loads of offers at all price ranges and levels of comfort .

Quinta Pedra dos Bicos is also very cheap in winter ... starting November 1st usually .. I`ve seen apartments at around £12 per night. You should be able to fly, transfer and stay for around £125 per week average.
