"...we will get through this!" Perhaps in three years (some reports suggest it will take this long treat enough people) by which time cats will have taken over the earth.

Previous pandemics happened and people got through them without cats taking over Wink I am positive and confident that by Winter 2021 life will be much much better than it is now,yes like you said in some Countries will take a bit longer but in the UK,EU,USA,Canada etc will get much better sooner rather than later...
In the meantime the GP practises in the UK coule be in for a nice blittle earner...

Strange that government decides that a sledgehammer comes under the heading of an 'essential' purchase but not a cushion.

Well you are lucky , the numpty Drakeford has his own idea of essentials and that does not include a kettle, toaster, microwave , air fryer or any useful kitchen small appliances !
Clearly Boris has more common sense !!

It is still not permitted to buy clothes or shoes here in Portugal. Ostensibly this is to protect small retailers who are forced to remain closed. It is 'not fair' says government to allow supermarkets etc to sell clothes in the current circumstances.

In the UK large food retailers (essential - ASDA etc.) also have a non food side so we can buy all the kettles, TVs etc. we want.  I guess it would be a bit "jobsworth" and foolish to close off that side of the store.

ALDI and LIDL here have non food sections where you can buy all manner of mechanical and electrical goods.  Are they the same in Portugal?
It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase 'As pretty as an Airport' appear. Douglas Adams
