A grey and dreary looking morning in Bristol, rain in the air. 11º at 0730am, might reach 14º but rain is forecast for most of the day. At least it won't be as windy as it has been over the weekend.

Last morning in Bristol before I return I hope to warmer climes. Once again it is windy, cold and grey. Rain in the air and temperature at 0745am is 8º, maybe rising to 11 or 12º later. Brrrr!

Canterbury for cricket week. After a very showery day yesterday, lots of big black clouds dumping rain upon the area, the first day's play should be nice and dry, with a whole 23º forecast. Might be a bit cloudy though.

Turned rather cloudy yesterday afternoon but rain held off. Today it's 18º at 0745am and will warm up to nice sunny day and 24º while we are in the beer tent at the cricket.

A warm and sunny day yesterday, not a cloud in the sky for most it. The same expected today with a maximum of 24º. However the forecast says that summer will end tomorrow, with storms predicted for Thursday.

A slightly cloudy but warm start to the day, 19º at 0800. Expecting a high of 26º this afternoon as we had yesterday. I shall be able to enjoy an afternoon doing tourist things in Canterbury. Defeat looms for Kent by lunchtime at the latest.

Eastbourne, Sussex. Bright and sunny, not much wind but not very warm. 14º at 0630am, rising to maximum 18 or 19º only. But I see that Albufeira is still in the grip of icy winds!

Southampton - cloudy and 15º at 0800, expecting a cloudy but dry day maximum 19º. There was a short spell of rain yesterday and it was dark enough for a time around 2pm to need the floodlights on at the cricket. Summer in England was last week it seems.

Very dark and gloomy yesterday, floodlights on all afternoon at the cricket but it didn't actually rain. I wish it had, given the score!  Today started fairly bright but it is already clouding over. 16º at the moment, could reach 20º later and it's not expected to rain.

It was cold and windy for most of yesterday, but didn't rain. Today has started grey and cold, 15.5º at 0815am and there is a distinct possbility of rain during the morning. Maximum 18º.

A very dark and gloomy day yesterday but unfortunately for Kent it didn't start raining until after the match had finished! This morning, bright and sunny, and a bit windy. 15º at 0830 rising possibly to 19º. I am off to Shrewsbury later, where the forecast is even less inviting.

Overnight in Shrewsbury. Woke to a cloudy day and 13º. It is supposed to reach 18º here later. But I am off to Barmouth, on the west Wales coast, where this afternoon the forecast is for 15º and ahead of me a cold and wet weekend! Summer in the UK!!
