A big fire north of Monchique and the smoke is coming down on the wind and beginning to cover the sky. Go to www.fogos.pt click on the symbol on the map for info and links to pictures.

One serious burns injury reported and a small number of homes evacuated. It is a remote area around 30 miles from Albufeira so, other than smoke, there is nothing to concern those hereabouts. The wind has changed direction so the sky here is still clear.
