A year since my first post on this topic. Work continues along Rua Sir Cliff Richard and Rua Coronel Águas by the old cemetery. Both roads remain closed and it seems little chance of the work being finished any time soon.     |

Slow progress! The crane at the outfall makes an ideal roost for the gulls. Pictures taken Sunday afternoon 19th October.          |

The road surface is being re-laid along part of the road, but there is a big hole where the crane is.     |

The road surface is back down along Rua Sir Cliff Richard. Pavements are also being relaid. Looks like that stretch will be re-opning soon. But not yet down the hill towards the marina, where there is still the big hole and the crane working   |

Rua Sir Cliff Richard is now open, but there is still a lot of work to be done on the road going down the hill towards the marina.   |

The road surface is back down but work continues on the outfall below the old cemetery. It will be some while yet before the road is re-opened to traffic. Very wet and muddy going for those on foot!     |

The road down the hill past the old cemetery is still closed to traffic. Plenty of work still to be done.   |

Nearly finished, although no work was being done this afternoon. The spillway is in situ. The crane has moved down to the bottom. The roads are being reconstructed.    |

Things are moving on. The crane has gone, the spillway is complete. Work is now in progress to restore the road surface. But a big hole has appeared in front of the Intermarché supermarket, blocking access to that road from the town direction. Whether or not connected to the other work, I know not. Looking at the spillway, what about the effect on the beach? Considering that this is a storm drain bringing surface water to be dumped straight into the sea.       |
