Hi, we are looking to move to Albufeira with our children who are 7 and 5.
Does anyone know what the local schools are like and whether any come recommended?
Thanks

I have kids in school but a different council to albufeira. (this is info for state schools, not paying private schools)
There will be a main school where you need to do the registration - loads of details about you and kids needed and one thing is up to date vacinations (these may be slightly different to ones you have had done already but likely the same so bring proof of what your kids have had.
There is probably a choice of 2 infant schools and 2 secondary schools in the main albufeira area and you can give a preference and most likely will get that choice and if you ask for both kids to attend the same school they will make sure it happens. For you to move over you will need to get a residencia and fiscal (VAT) number + register with the social security office and your local health centre - info can be found about moving to portugal with a google and once you have these numbers they will be needed on school forms - ps the kids also need all the above - even the fiscal number. It is not hard or costly to do any of this but you do need a Portuguese speaker as prepare for no one in an office to speak english and there will be no forms in english

Thank you so much for your help, we really appreciate it!
Are the state schools there quite good? We're hoping that they will be 🤞
