Does anyone know where hires bikes to tourists and costs? Thanks.

No sure about the Old Town but generally there are plenty of places around that do hire them. In fact they seem to be the in thing and they're spreading like a rash. Certainly out here most hotels do them as well as some Ticket Shops. As for cost, they are usually 10 Euro a day for a normal push bike but you have to pay a bit more for one of those motorised jobs.
If you want one for any length of time (e.g. a week or more) it works out quite a bit cheaper to buy a new one from Continente & then try & sell it (or dump it) before you go home. |

There is a bike hire shop on left going into Old Town from Explorers roundabout, where all the flood water piled in. They have dozens of bikes, very busy.

Yes I saw that new shop the other day. It is right opposite the taxi ranks and bus stops, in Avenida da Liberdade.
