FCO advice not to travel came out some time in March. From then we would presumably not have been covered by annual policies if we travelled against that advice.
Does anyone think we're likely to get a partial refund on such policies? Or am I as well to believe in fairies?

Fairies I'm afraid.

I asked my insurer when I enquired about our lost holiday in March. Even though we have a continuous annual policy, renewed in January, they would not cover a claim for flights, accommodation and car hire.

I therefore asked about a partial refund and that was a no too.

A friend requested and received a refund from Admiral for his annual

My travel insurance is through Lloyds, connected to my bank  account. Worldwide Insurance for me and hubby, no monthly  payment for it, it was free originally through this particular  account for those who have  had  this same account for years, but now  they now charge £14.99 per month for new clients. I had an email from them saying terms & conditions were changing due to this  pandemic but we are still covered for it because it was in force before this dreadful virus hit us.

Jayjan, is that £14.99 per month ONLY for the travel insurance or does it include some bank account transaction fees?
It seems to be very expensive for annual travel insurance policy.

They do enjoy their exclusions, and I wish I could get insurance for £14.99/month, once you start declaring health issues the premium rivals the holiday cost.

With my many health problems and age I couldn't get insurance that covered all my conditions.  Luckily we were able to join a group scheme through the Civil Service Pensioners Alliance which many would think a bit expensive. But it's the cover I need and gives me confidence to travel.

bebop  I think its only worldwide travel insurance, never gone into whether it includes bank account transaction fees. I suppose it depends how often you travel  and to which countries, so for approx £180 per year I find it reasonable.

Our joint multi-trip travel insurance at present for worldwide travel is €85 per annum. I went online and checked and in a few years, when we are over a certain age, the price will be very close to what Jayjan is paying 🥴
