Jerónimo Barreto, ordered the altarpiece in the chancel to be gilded and painted. The 1755 earthquake damaged the temple, namely the ousia that was overthrown, but the prior immediately ordered its reconstruction. Regarding the carving, only an eighteenth century altarpiece survived from the first chapel on the side of the epistle, next to the cruise.
