The Algarve Football Tours site advises ….. Hoogland [Netherlands fourth tier] v Louletano, playing at Guias main ground in the village on Monday 6.1.20 at 5pm.

Vitesse v Servette is at Vila Real de Santo Antonio TOMORROW (Tuesday) according to the Vitesse website. Ko says 1600hrs but that might be Dutch time, so could be 1500hrs our time. The MSV Duisburg site has their game at Portimonense still marked for Wednesday afternoon. The Portimonense website makes no mention of it. Vitesse Arnhem v MSV Duisburg is scheduled for 1400hrs Saturday 11th at their base of the Amandoeira resort to which the public is not normally admitted, Seems daft for them all to be having a winter break when the temperature in Germany and Holland is nearly as warm as here.,

I am told that there are two games at Albufeira coming up. Friday at 1200 noon Servette Geneva (Swiss League) v Wolfsburg Saturday at 1430 Servette v FC Seoul The kickoff times are not on the Servette FC website but the dates are there. (This week's weather in Amsterdam 8 - 12º with rain. Hardly winter as we know it. Sure to be snowing when they resume on the 18th. Premier League winter break is in mid February spread over two weeks. I trust they will enjoy their trips to Malaysia and Thailand.)

I use that Soccerway site myself, its ok [tho Servette today kicked off at 4pm, not 3 as stated.... GMT strikes again]. And its hard work ploughing through all the fixtures looking for Algarve venues. Anyhow, two done and dusted...…. Hoogland 3-5 Louletano last evening and Servette 2-0 Vitesse Arnhem today. VA were somewhat handicapped by their centre-forward apparently playing the first half in rollerskates lol.

Today was one of the curve-balls that football in Portugal occasionally throws up. I had a wasted journey as it turned out Portimonense had declared the match be played behind closed doors at the main ground in Central Portimao. Had a chunter at the ticket office lass and bought a ticket for Saturdays dogfight with Pacos DF. There were a group of less than gruntled Duisburg supporters hanging about as I drove away. Wondered if they were about to don spiked helmets and storm the grounds main gate.  |

Another day, more Friendlies ….. these were at the renovated Municipal in Albufeira. Which imo looks splendid now. All they need are one or two gophers to sweep the sand back into the athletics pits. It was another mixed day for our German friends.... Seoul 1-1 Wolfsburg, even game with a fair result. Servette Geneva 2-1 Wolfsburg, the Swiss pinched it with a winner in the last minute. Fair do's to the German club for turning out two sides on the same day. Mind you, somebody has dragged the organisers into the 21st century. Free entry into these in past years .... E15 per head today which covered both games. The behind-closed-doors game t'other day...… Portimonense 3-2 Duisberg. Hoping more fixtures come out soon, next week looks empty around the Algarve atm.

Hello guys. Next week we have day 15 in VRSA, Den Haag - Huelva (ladies match). Day 16 Hamburg vs Seoul in Albufeira. About Duisburg vs Vitesse, about 100 german supporters at Amendoeira Golf Resort in a sunny afternoon. Vitesse was winning 1-0, but at the end wins the germans :) 3-1 |

Day 16 Hamburg vs Seoul in Albufeira. I think this game is at 1500hr / 3pm but no-one seems to know! I am in contact with someone from Hamburg so all being well the time will soon be confirmed. It is one I can go to. I am surprised that supporters were admitted to the Amendoeira resort, but good for them. Even practice matches here require armed police to be present.

There were about 6 security guys.. Lots of beer bottles on that venue.. Duisburg had to give that presente (open doors) to their supporters, since the match in Portimão was closed.
