Looking to buy a curtain pole and curtains, or a blind to cover the window in a spare bedroom. We will be using public transport from Roja Pe, so don’t really want to make the journey to Leroy Merlin or Algarve Shopping. Are there any shops that will sell these in Albufeira? There doesn’t seem to be any such shop in Olhos, I did think the Chinese shop might sell something but they don’t.

Nowhere I can think of for definite but have you tried the big chinese store at Corcovada (off the bus at Santa Eulalia, 100 yards further up the street and it's to the right of the Globes roundabout) or the big chinese shop behind the town hall. That one definitely sells curtains. Trouble is with the latter you will leave with stuff you don't really want.

We had the same problem. To get any sort of choice you really need to go to Leroy Merlin, they have loads of both. Will cost you 30 euro for a taxi there and back but it will be money well spent

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Almost directly opposite Taberna do Pescadores on Avenida 25 de Abril there is a shop called Quattro Decor, they sell fabrics, bedclothes, curtains, voile etc. Bit pricey though. Always thought it was an odd place for a shop like that!!

Thanks all,
Came out on Monday, and as we were bringing a large holdall this time, we decided to buy a wooden rail before we left and hubby cut it in half and re-assembled when we arrived. Just about fitted into the bag, and worked out okay as the window is smallish. We do go to Merlins when we have a few items to get but it is expensive to get to when you just want odd items. |
