I thought £2 flights were Bristol to Faro?
Few years ago Paul Ryanair did 1p flights yes one penny mentioned on here often.
As I said Grandaughter is flying here for free.
If you see them £9 flights again give me the nod no further South than Manchester though.

When I first came across the £2 deal there was loads of destinations and a good choice of airports to fly from.By the time I posted on here a few hours later most of the flights had been sold and thought it was only worth posting up the deal for Faro airport.

Good job really as could you imagine if I posted cheap flights for another destinations,I'd probably be spat at in the street

So the Algarve is too cold in the Winter & too hot in the Summer then.

All I know is that we'll be there for 5 weeks from 31st January and during that time there'll be some lovely warm days that will enable us to do everything that we enjoy doing - walking, days on the beach, playing golf, cycling etc.
In the evenings there will be plenty of nice quiet restaurants to choose from.
As we have never been to a Waterpark or Zoo Marine in 15 years the fact that they are closed or unavailable is not a problem.
We last went to the Strip in 2003 so if the whole Street closed down for good it wouldn't bother us one bit.
We shall probably go to the Carnival in Loule and we might watch the start of the cycle race in Albufeira.
Sure we can do most of that in the Canaries or somewhere else, where the weather might be better and the flights might be cheaper, but at the end of the day, it's not the Algarve.
We just happen to like it.

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Don't think this quite belongs on this topic, but I will go for it anyway, I have spent the last 2 days sitting on the beach, eating fruit and listening to the waves. Taking in to consideration I am from Scotland and a bit hardy, but I was not the only one!!!!! Must admit weather seems to be better this year than previously in January, also if I may add, many more people than usual.
my beautiful portugal

Yes the Algarve is too hot in the height of summer and too cold in the middle of winter.

You do know there is mid season don't you ?

And to think tonisdad said you were intelligent

Anyway I will leave this conversation now as it will give you the opportunity to say your bit with no reply from me,that way you and the rest of the old boys club/high posters can think you've got one over on one of the outsiders who don't frequent the pubs that you all meet at.

I will leave you and the forum to it.

I will make sure I will not hit my head on the way out.

For the record, I have never met Cameroncleggout, Dicey, Patti, Tonisdad or 0856kit. The only other contributor to this thread I have knowingly met is Lucy, on two occasions.  It's an Albufeira forum, so by definition most people are going to prefer Albufeira. They are going to disagree with you, naturally. There's no "new world order" going on. I don't go on rock n roll forums and wax lyrical about northern soul. And if I did I wouldn't be surprised if the shrift I was handed was on the short side...

Getting back to the original question ... you can get downloads of the monthly guide, town streetmaps, etc ... at  www.visitalgarve.pt     If they aren`t visible, go to pressroom or downloads ...   February guide is available lst week of January ... printed version is in many hotels ...

International Womens football starts March 1 ... see Algarve Cup threads on forum ..

Following with interest and hugely amused.
Why respond to a windup merchant?  Ignore them and after a while Trolls trot off to find an easier target.  Rather like bullies, really.
It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase 'As pretty as an Airport' appear. Douglas Adams

As a fully paid up member of the 'old boys club/high posters' may I take this opportunity to invite new members along at any time. The title is a bit misleading as we talk to absolutely anyone who cares to listen, from high posters to low posters, to northern people and southern people and even the Irish, to residents and non residents and even to Dog Man who hasn't washed for years and costs me 50 cents a time.
We DO meet up in certain pubs around town where we would love to meet any new members but please bear in mind, we are all very handsome, refined and like to discuss the finer things in life.
