Bordeaux - pleasant start to the day, expecting up to 30ºC but perhaps with showers later turning into a risk of thunderstorms this evening. Very humid!

Very cloudy this morning in Bordeaux, not expecting more than 22 or 23ºC, rain is in the air.

(I noticed that cricket at Canterbury was rained off last night. What heatwave?)

30 here today in sunny North Norfolk and it hasn't rained sine June 5th - that's something like 7 weeks without so much as a drop.
It will be even higher here come the middle of next week, maybe as high as 35.
Thinking of popping over to Portugal (or France) to cool down a bit Smile
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

We are in for a hot week here also. 1030 local time, already 24ºC and very humid with 30ºC forecast. Ironically, the local paper's front page today highlights the 'exceptionally violent' weather that has battered the region on and off since May, with two or three times the normal rainfall, hailstorms destroying crops including many vineyards Cry and high winds knocking down trees and power lines. The weather is indeed upside down.

Cloudy and expecting 28ºC today. A far cry from the deserts of East Anglia!

Yesterday evening and night turned out to be very humid. Today it's windy, an on shore breeze of 20km ph temperature expected to be around 28 later, hotter inland.

The day has started cloudy and dull, with light rain. Will clear up later but no more than 24ºC expected today.

Didn't see any of the eclipse. It was very cloudy last night, then the mosquitoes attacked in force, shelter sought rapidly!

Yesterday it rained for a bit not long after I had written but it cleared up after that and I managed a nice day out to a heritage railway operation. Today has started cloudy but we are expecting a nice day and about 25ºC. It's going to be a lot hotter by the weekend, as it seems to be in many places.

Stayed cloudy all day yesterday until early evening. Pleasant enough day though. This morning blue sky and sunshine, forecast 31ºC later. As with the Algarve, you won't need to go very far inland away from the sea breeze to find 36 - 38ºC today. Half of France is on a weather warning for temperatures of 38 - 40ºC.

Évora, central Portugal, is forecast for 45ºC today, that's 113F. Marbella is apparently today going to be 48ºC. Time for a siesta?

The official European record is 48ºC in Athens in 1977. Is there a bet this will be broken this year?

Hot and sunny already today, forecast for this coastal area is 33ºC but it's not far inland away from the sea breeze where 38ºC is expected.
