I stayed in Gale for 2 weeks end of July / beg of August and I did not see one cloud in the sky
Now that I am coming back golfing to Vilamoura for the weekend, the forecast looks like the sun won't be able to break through the clouds!
Help, someone be positive for me?!?!?

The local weather station has 82F as of now (1119am) and my thermometer out the back says 79, so we are not far apart.
Some forecasts are indeed predicting storms and rain at the weekend; it was 27th September last year when we had the deluge.
And yes, "I can see clearly now" a hit for Johnny Nash in 1972. That's why I am useless in music quizzes!

Infact cancel that - we are going to leave it for the Bank Holiday weekend. I know I wanted to test the waterproof satnav oneday - but not yet!
Is it a sign of madness answering your own posts?!!

Al, On the basis I've just done it, answered or responded to my own post, yep, for sure it's a sign!
That said, tell me, Bank Holiday? Am I missing something or truly going mad?

5th October is Republic Day out here. I wonder how busy the Abril 25th bridge will be, coming back up to Lisbon - something like the Dartford Bridge on a bank holiday I guess?

Well you are forgiven. Another boring day of bright blue skies etc etc, 22C/72F at the moment (0900hrs) and no rain in sight. Very light wind from the east.
Inland it's baking, temperatures over 30C expected in the Alentejo and Lisbon. Not quite as hot hereabouts, forecast high 28C/82F.
The local forecast for Saturday by the way is predicting nothing more than a lot of cloud. Even the more gloomy forecasts elsewhere are expecting not much more than a light shower or two over the weekend, at the worst. We shall see.

Let's hope you are right my friend, I prefer the SuperBok nice and chilled in the sun, not the rain!

Not quite so warm this morning and there is some high cloud around. Currently 21C/68F, fairly humid and a once again a very light wind from the east.
Today's high 27C/81F and no rain to be seen anywhere.
However, the local forecast has changed for the worse and there are now black clouds with jagged orange bits and lots of rainy blobs over the Algarve for Saturday and Sunday. Typical, if it turns out to be right, as I am refereeing tomorrow afternoon.

Well it's getting rather windy out there. But me washing's on the line, so a good drying day is what is needed.
The wind is backing round, coming more from the south than the east and it's the south where the rain comes from.
Just in case anyone's forgotten, here are the weather stats for 27 September 2008
Rainfall : 55.9mm (nearly 2.5 ") Temperature : 20C
Will it be the same this weekend?
The next 24hrs saw the epic rainfall of 230mm or so, 9 inches in one night.
