It's not going away just yet. At 930am Sunday it was 4C/38F. The sun's out and the skies pretty clear, so we should see a high today of around 14C/57F but it will be cold again tonight, down to about 2 or 3C. It is pretty windy so it will feel cooler than mid-50's.

It will stay dry today. By Tuesday things will be warming up a little, but the downside will be some showers as the wind shifts round to the east.

They have been wheeling out aged residents who are saying "... this is the longest spell of such cold weather since I were a lad..." sort of thing.

Looks like things are improving! 12noon and it is 13C/56F and last night was a lot less cold than over the last 2 weeks or so.

The sun is shining brightly, there is no wind to speak of. Skies are clear, no rain or cloud around and in a change to earlier forecasts it looks like staying dry for a few days.

Glad things are improving. Brother Sam is going out 19th Feb for two months. When I told him to take bed socks the reply was........unprintable!! He's Glaswegian (I'm Geordie, yes I know, long story) so we didn't get very high up the alphabetLOL If the weather stays around 60c he'll be happy, fingers crossed!
Consistently inconsistent, Esse sou eu!

Warm and wet this morning! Bring an umbrella.

It's raining steadily, as forecast. It will be like this for much of the day. Current temperature (730am) a positively balmy 10C (50F), rising to around 15 or 16 (60F) which is about average for the time of year.

Wind is fairly strong and from the west. Provided it stays that way, we should find the cold spell is over. However it will be rather showery over the next few days.

View (?) from my window 0823am. It is foul out there.

0940am and I am speaking to you from outside the Camara.

It's chilly here this morning - only 6C/42F at 715am. Rather cloudy, sun trying to break through. Later today we should see 12 or 13C (that around 58F) and it should stay dry - ish!

Yuk! Very, very grey and wet out there and more to come. It's been raining for hours and although it has eased off a little just now, there is another lot on the way. Wind is from the south, so at 11C it is quite warm, but scant consolation for the visitors no doubt loking ouit forlornly from the hotel windows.

Today's high 14 or 15C (57 - 59f) but it won't exactly be a day for going out!

Well, yesterday turned out to be a horrible day all round. It didn't stop raining until early evening.

Today will be a better, but not by much. Current temperature is 10C/50F. Wind is variable but currently from the south/south-west and there is a very large black cloud coming with it. Rain today but perhaps not as prolonged as yesterday. Temperatures will rise to maybe 14 or 15C, that's about 60/62F.

Good news is that this rain will pass over today and that the weekend should be fairly clear and dry.

Well there were only a few spots of rain hereabouts yesterday, luckily, but it was a bit wet to the west.

The weekend looks like being much better than of late. it's currently 7C/44F and today's high is expected to be 15 or 16C/58 - 60F. There's no rain around so it should be a nice day. Wind is from the north, not very strong.

Computer problems! OK now.

11am and it is 15C/60F outside but doesn't seem that warm as it is rather cloudy and the sun can't be seen.  There's no wind to speak of. It should stay dry today but showers will return on Tuesday.

They're predicting some fairly rough seas as well, with a 2.5 swell.

It has been rather dreary and overcast this morning, but the is just starting to break through. There was some rain during the early hours, enough to leave a few puddles.

It's 13C/55F at the moment and fairly windy from the north-west. There's a strong possibility of rain later in the day and tonight as there is a large band of showers on the west coast and a few isolated ones already heading our way. It will get a little warmer, maybe up to about 15 or 16C is around 60F.

Have a nice day.

Yesterday was foul - see picture above for a repeat view out of my window. It didn't stop raining until 5pm.

I was out early this morning and it was not unpleasant, but the clouds are building up and, as I write, there is a whole bunch of wind and rain approaching from the north-west.

It's currently 10C/50F and very windy - the Algarve coast is on yellow alert for high seas (6 to 7 metre swell) and high winds.

It won't be very nice later.

Wednesday looks like being a little better but the rain returns for Thursday.

Have a nice day. The space bar on my keyboard has gone on strike, which is making typing a bit difficult - out comes the cleaning kit.
