Sun didn't come out yesterday until quite late in the day, but today looks already like being a lot better. Temperature at 0855am is 24.3º, very light breeze and no clouds I can see. except for a slight distant haze out to sea.

Forecast for today is for 29º. (some parts of the centre of Portugal are expecting 42º today, so be grateful!)

It will be fairly warm tonight, no lower than about 21 or 22 along the coast.

Tomorrow will be a little cooler. For Saturday there is a 67% chance of light rain or showers. After that little bit passes by, on Sunday it will be 29 then next week going up to 32º daytime, low 20's at night and staying dry.

[Don't complain about the weather here. I am reading that yesterday in Greece, six tourists were killed and around 30 injured during a violent hailstorm. Massive hail storms have also hit parts of Spain and Italy, with more forecast for northern England and Scandinavia over the weekend.]

There is a fairly thick mist this morning and a bit of  breeze blowing it around. Temperature at 0745am is 21.9ºC. The mist will clear later but the top temperature today won't be more than about 27. No rain is forecast.

It will be a bit cold again tonight, down to 18 inland, 20 along the coast.

There is a 43% chance of light rain or scattered showers across the region tomorrow,. along with a bit of cloud it may be only 24º at best. And it will be cold again at night.

Hotter weather returns on Sunday for the week at least, day-time temperature will be in the low 30´s, night-time low 20's.

Grey day so far, a few spots of rain already and a little bit more to come this morning then it should get better. Temperature at 0815am is 20.2ºC, there is a bit of a wind from the south, bringing some cloud and light rain with it.

The rain should pass over during the morning, making way for a nice afternoon with temperature 24 or 25, but it will be windier later. Tonight won't be too bad, 18º at lowest.

Much warmer weather is on the way for tomorrow and the rest of next week, daytimes up into low 30's and night-time will be low 20's.

Have you seen IPMA’s 10 day forecast? Solid mid thirties all the way, and they are normally on the conservative side!
Heaven help us, more G & T’s will be called for I think! 😂

A sunny morning, quite windy at the moment. Temperature at 1000am is 24.6º, so in fact a touch cooler than at the same time yesterday. And yes the forecast today says a maximum of 35º later.

For the rest of this week, the temperature will be in low 30's. possibly again up to 35 over the coming weekend. Nights will be around 20 - 22º along the coast but colder inland. The evenings could be especially windy.

Pleasant morning, and a little windy once again. Temperature at 0900 is a cold 22.2º but it does feel quite humid. the thingy says 67%.

Blue sky, a slight haze out to sea. Forecast today a maximum of 29 - 32º. It will be rather windy again this evening with the temperature falling to around 19 or 20.

Similar days is are expected tomorrow and Thursday, then from Friday the temperature wil be climbing into the mid 30's during the day and not much lower than 22 or 23 at night.

It's windy this morning and with some hazy cloud around. Temperature at 0920am is 22.5ºC. Forecast for today is 31º. It will be windier still later, 30kph perhaps which might bring up the sea a little.

Tonight will be pleasantly cool at around 20 along the coast, 17 inland.

The rest of the week will be hot and sunny, temperatures reaching 34 perhaps 35º in the daytime, no lower than about 22 at night.

This is my last on the spot report for a while. The local forecast can be seen in English at

Toss a coin!
BBC say today’s high will be 27, IPMA say 36!
Makes a mockery of forecasting really but from experience IPMA are normally miles more accurate.
Be careful out there!

Well, its hot! And that's about as much as I need to type! LOL!
The chemist says 34, our car says 30 and our thermometer in the shade says 31. Whichever is correct is pretty irrelevant, it's hot. Very light intermittent breeze, planes landing from the west meaning what breeze there is originates from the more easterly side of the compass. IPMA have solid low 30's for next ten days and zero percent chance of rain.

3.00pm update. The chemist now agrees with our thermometer, both reporting 31.

It stayed very warm yesterday evening, it was still 24 degrees at 10.30 and the air was very still, that probably contributed to the temp holding on.
It’s been very still through the night but in past half hour we have acquired a light breeze. It was 22 degrees at 9.00am and 32 forecast for later. Other than that, same as really.
One to note though, IPMA’s 10 day forecast which was solid low 30’s now shows a blip on Saturday where they are now forecasting only 25. Be interesting to see.

Well the breeze stopped with us all day yesterday, thankfully, it was very welcome. My new gizmo weather station had us topping out at 33.7 yesterday and humidity varying between 50 and 61%. Without the breeze we would have fried!
Today the forecast is for a high of 29, so a revision by IPMA, but as yesterday we already hit 22 at 9.00am so we’ll see.
Other than that today is, as the day before, same as.
The Saturday glitch on the forecast gets more interesting, now down to 24 degrees and a 40% chance of rain! Really? Look forward to seeing what it actually does.
Thereafter back in the 30’s and no chance of rain.
So all set fair for another great day today. 👍

Earlier than usual, responding to reader request!
Same as really, a bit more cloud than we’ve seen of late but generally bright and sunny, a lighter breeze, already 21 degrees at 8.15, the IPMA site isn’t working so I don’t know if they are still hinting at rain and only 24, personally I think it will be well above that but rain? Perhaps they’ve seen something on the radar coming our way but there’s nothing yet out here to suggest we might get wet.
Another typical Algarve July day I think.

8.55am update. IPMA now working, they’ve upped their figure to 27 but still say 40% chance of rain, interesting. We shall see.

Over in Olhos De Agua, it’s been completely cloudy since about 11am. There are a few spots of rain to be felt in the air, but nothing more as yet. Maybe if we get a downpour, it will clear the air.
This evening’s forecast is promising a return to sunshine.
