A dull and cloudy start to the day, temperature at 0830 is 18.1ºC and very little wind.

It will stay cloudy most of the day, temperature rising to 24 or 25 at best.  There is no rain around. Tonight will be cool again, 15 or 16 along the coast 14 or 15 inland.  There won't be any real change in the overall weather situation for the next few days, other than there being more a chance of a shower or two later in the week.

Cloudy again this morning but there are some blue bits. Very little wind, temperature at 0805 am is 18.1ºC. That could rise to 24 or 25 later but it will be cloudy more or less all day. No rain expected.

Tonight down again to 15 or 16 along the coast, 13 or 14 inland. Little change for the next two or three days, except it seems a middling chance of some showers on Thursday and Friday.

Well we go home on Thursday and overall the weather for the last 6 weeks has been disappointing.
Cloudy, windy and often decidedly chilly and there's only been a handful of days when the sun has shone all day and it's been anywhere near what you would call hot.
Been here virtually every May since 2002 and this is the worst it's ever been by some margin.
Looking back, the temperature by now (i.e early June) has usually been in the high 20's and frequently in the low to mid 30's and we haven't got anywhere near that this year.

Meanwhile, on the Costa North Norfolk it's been the hottest May on record.

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

We changed from visiting in May to June and will be over again in two weeks time so hopefully it will improve. Our 10 days at the end of March was better than expected though.

Ironically the weather in North East England has been very ďry - my garden is parched and the lawn brown!

Cloudy and very cold again this morning. Temperature at 9am is 18.7ºC, the sun is just coming through overhead but there are some very dark clouds to the west where the weather is coming from. The radar though has only a couple of tiny specks of rain, maybe the same as the 30 seconds we have yesterday around 1000am.

It will stay cloudy all day, temperature will go up to perhaps 24 when the sun is out. Cold again tonight, down to 15 or 16 along the coast, 13 inland.

Tomorrow will start cloudy, much the same as today, there is a more than even chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. Friday and Saturday not too promising, 22ºC and possible showers. Normal mid June is around 26.

Then, it seems, the wind will shift around bringing hot air from the interior and temperatures up to 28 or 29 from Sunday onward. We shall see!
By the way, the Algarve is pretty dry also and is the only region of Portugal with a yellow alert for fire risk.

Update 1300hrs -it's actually not bad at the moment, sun is out and 23ºC although still a bit windy. Rain 2 or 3 hours away.

Another dull and grey morning, temperature at 0835 is 18.1ºC so about the same as yesterday. I don't think it will be clear up and be sunny like it was yesterday afternoon.  A cold front with a band of rain is heading our way and it's likely there could be some rain this afternoon. The north and down to Lisbon are being rained on as I write. Top temperature today 24ºC.

Tonight will once more have temperatures down to 15 or 16 along the coast, 13 inland.

Tomorrow there is a good chance of rain once again with temperature similar to today.  Same goes for Saturday, a bit less chance of rain, but once this front passes over the sun will be with us. By the end of next week it is supposed to be 30 or 31ºC and you will all be complaining it is too hot!

A few spots only of rain here yesterday, but other places had more. Not too bad a start to the day, clouds are high, plenty of blue sky and 20ºC at 0835am. There are a few showers forming up for attack out to the west, some places will be rained on later. Max today and with similar weather tomorrow only around 23º.

Sunday and Monday will be cloudy  and likewise cool for the time of year, but with only a slight chance of rain. From Tuesday onward temperatures are expected to climb into the high 20's with the arrival of summer weather.

Bright and sunny at the moment and 19.9ºC but a line of showers is just west of Portimão and coming our way. After that passes it will stay cloudy with perhaps some more short showers, maximum temperature no more than 21 or 22.

It could be quite a cold night too, 15 or 16 along the coast, 13 or 14 inland.

It should be a bit warmer Sunday and Monday, still cloudy though but no rain forecast. Summer weather is at last expected from Tuesday, with daytime temperatures gradually climbing through the week until we get to 30 or 31 next weekend.

Cloudy start to the day, temperature at 9am is 18.2ºC so not quite as warm as yesterday. It's high cloud though and not threatening rain. The air is fairly humid coming from the south west across the sea. it will stay cloudy, perhaps more sun later, maximum temperature 23ºC, still not very warm for the time of year.
Temperature tonight will fall to 15 or 16 along the coast, 12 or 13 inland.

Tomorrow will be similar to today, warmer weather comes along from Tuesday with the daytime temperature expected to be 28ºC.  The anticyclone over Spain will be forming up. That brings clear, dry weather and by the end of the week we should be getting temperatures in the low 30's.

A cool and cloudy morning to begin with but the sun is breaking through now. Temperature at 0940am is 20.0ºC, there is just a very light wind.

The clouds will gradually clear away, we could reach 26ºC this afternoon which would be warmest for a very long time. It won't be all that warm again tonight, as low as 13ºC inland, 16 along the coast. A change in wind direction will be bring much warmer weather from tomorrow, 28ºC is forecast and on Wednesday 30ºC. Clear sky for the rest of the week, daytime temperature up around 30 or 31, night-times 15 or 16 at worst. By the end of the week and over next weekend daytime temp will be around 33ºC, night-time 18 - 20. Summer is here.

A very dark, almost gloomy, start to the day. Thick cloud, temperature at 0745am is 19.1ºC. The forecast is optimistically predicting 29ºC later once the clouds have scattered. There's no rain expected. Tonight won't be all that warm still, 15 or 16 along the coast, 13 or 14 inland. Tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to hit 30ºC, even hotter Friday and Saturday. Outlook beyond is the same, low 30's daytime, 18 - 20 at night.

Bright, warm and sunny morning. It was quite cool at 0730, only 15.8ºC, but now 3 hours later it is already 22.2ºC and heading for a forecast 29 this afternoon. There might be a cloud or two. Tonight will again not be all that warm under mostly clear sky, could be down to 15 or 16 again along the coast, cooler inland.

Tomorrow is going to be hotter than today, 31ºC expected. Summer is here at last, temperatures could reach as high as 35ºC over the next week or so.

Sunny sky, a bit of a breeze and 18.3ºC at 0855am. Wind is from the north, so it's hot dry air coming from inland. Maximum temperature today forecast to be 31ºC. There might be some cloud around later.

Warmer tonight than it has been, 18 or 19 along the coast, 17 inland.

Current forecast says 33ºC tomorrow and 34ºC Saturday with night-times no lower than 22. And that's the pattern for next week, except the wind will be more from the south so it could be more humid.

I believe that the weather has not been too great so far this summer on the Algarve... are there any real signs of improvement? Sid.
