"Is there much open on Estrada de Santa Eulalia yet?"

Sorry, I didn't go that far. I should think not though as most places depend on tourists for their customers. Maybe something I can do tomorrow. I will need a little walk.

I have a friend who lives in the area, she said Martiniques, Solcaffe,Coyote, La Brezza are now open on limited hours. Unsure about others places. I will ask her for more information and post if there is.

Things look to be opening up slowly but surely.

I wish I knew when we will be able to return.

Yes us too, things are not looking good in the UK at the moment, figures arn't low enough for FCO to say we can travel safely.
BTW just read that Spain will not be accepting any UK visitors until things improve and I think a lot of the Portuguese people (not government) are feeling the same way reading some of the posts on facebook. I think they are a scared of us Brits  causing a second wave.

If tourists don't come there will be tens of thousands of jobs lost, possibly permanently.

The economic consequences for the country would be far, far, worse than those of viruses.

Can Portugal do without the British, who make up 50% or so of annual visitors??

Meanwhile I can add the Yorkshire Tavern to those places that are open. Usual rules about wearing masks, table service only, with closing at 11pm.

I can understand the worries of the Portuguese people.  Jobs against lives.  We are the new "Typhoid Marys".
