So there is a 96.58% survival rate. And that is of the approximately 0.5% of the Portuguese population who have been recorded as infected. 87% of deaths are in the 70+ age group. I don't know how many had pre-existing conditions that might have been a factor. So what is it we are not being told about why this particular virus has caused world wide near panic?

Luis .. if you notice in the `relatorio` ... after I made my remarks about the figures ... the DGS added approximately 100 cases to municipalities in the Algarve, including 6 to Albufeira ... but they still dont add up ..

Even though airbridge has been approved for Portugal it seems you still have to fill in locations forms according to uk.gov website. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/portugal?fbclid=IwAR30Sn1MKoPabAOObNViKEIFX5m0BRY6CosIqIt3vRvKxLxyVlWh5mbx-j8
" taken from the website": From 4am on 22 August, Portugal will be added to the list of countries where self-isolation on return to the UK is not required. You will still need to provide your journey and contact details before you travel. See guidance on entering or returning to the UK.

Yes and you still have to fill in forms for the Portuguese government in case you bring it with you or have been sat next to someone on the plane who does. Anyway, fingers crossed the situation is not reversed once a few thousands make their way to the Algarve. |

Yes, they've gone one further for us. Stopped all international flights from Newcastle so our September holiday joins the cancelled ones for March and June 😪
This also means our family booking for June next year for 7 people is down the pan and all this has cost us financially too. We've been flying to various destinations with Easyjet since 2003 and whilst I understand the serious challenges within the travel industry, Easyjet's Newcastle base was profitable and the next nearest is Manchester or Liverpool. |

Not for Easyjet. Newcastle still has Jet2 flying to Faro but they are pricy. Our September flights were less than a third of Jet2 rates by comparison. Then there's Ryanair. Never flown with them and I wouldn't rule them out but their flights are less frequent. |

Don't rule out Ryanair Col. They get a bad press due to the obnoxious CEO but I've used them for the last 10 years from Edinburgh and they are OK.

It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase 'As pretty as an Airport' appear. Douglas Adams
