"silly shorts"?
I've seen a big chap on a bike around town in WW2 It Aint Half Hot Mum style shorts. Frightening. Whom could he be? |

It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase 'As pretty as an Airport' appear. Douglas Adams

So much for the heightened security checks required to preserve the Western way of life and our democracies. Still, does it really matter when you can cross the border by train, coach or car without anyone so much as bothering?
I think all those golfers in silly shorts are a major threat to national peace and stability. They must be controlled! |

Last Friday it took us 40 minutes to get through passport control at Faro and it was chaotic with queues merging, passengers moving taped lane markers, etc.
When we reached the official it was a glance at the passport photo and a nod through. No checking or scanning at all - probably 3 seconds each! |

We got delayed about 1hr 30 minutes which was bad enough but then when we landed at around 8.45pm we had Faro Airport to contend with.
Over 40 minutes to get through passport control where there was only 2 booths open trying to cope with 3 or 4 flights. The eye recognition things were all showing green but they were blocked off so you couldn't use them. Joke |

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

It's a widespread strike among the usual suspects - railways, ATC, anything where government pays the wages.

Yes, last June we flew from Newcastle over Dublin and the coast of southern Ireland to avoid French airspace and still arrived at Faro on time.

You would think they would give it up as a bad job. I don`t know why British operators do not avoid French airspace at all times where possible and fly down West coast of UK. Hit them in the pocket. Couple of times we have diverted it took no longer flying from Leeds or Newcastle. Granted more Southern airports might not be the same. |

Isn't it about time they had another revolution and be done with all this? Just string up a few of the politicians, so the downtrodden masses get back their 35 hour week and retirement at 50.

They're at it again! There will be a French Air Traffic Control strike next week.
The strike, called by the UNSA union, will hit flights between Monday March 6th and Friday March 10th. |

It makes me wonder whether they called it off because earlier I checked departures terminal 3 Manchester and at least 3 planes were on final boarding for CGD Paris & No cancelled flights showing.

Daughter was away on time this morning no problems. I noticed that also bob d. Thought it was strange so many planes in French air space.
The rest of Europe should boycott them altogethor and their ferries where possible. |
