One of the most significant is the contract for the requalification of the 
Municipal Road that connects the Rotunda da Balaia and goes to the
municipality of Loulé (EM 526), ​​crossing part of the Olhos d´Água area.
The work will involve a large amount, 876,370.72 euros + VAT, in order to
provide that artery, with intense road circulation, better and safer road
and pedestrian traffic conditions. Specifically, the work consists in the removal of existing pavement and
repair of existing pathologies, execution of a new pavement with bituminous
mixture with modified bitumen with medium rubber, vertical signage
replacement and horizontal signage and punctual repair of walls and
sidewalks. The main works to be carried out are grouped by the following chapters:
preparatory works and demolitions (€ 72,401.78 + VAT), paving works
(€ 635,993.00 + VAT), signage (€ 64,489.83 plus VAT), confining C walls
(48,507.20 € + VAT). With regard to the works of the contract, the road braking is in an
extension of 75.000,00 m2 (61.500,00 € + VAT), the supply and application
of a wear layer with 0.06 m, in discontinuous bituminous mixture
manufactured from MBA type BBM (open bituminous mixture with modified
bitumen with medium rubber content), including emulsion-modified
irrigation gluing 78.040 m2 (507.260,00 € + VAT). The term of the contract is 120 days and is expected to start after the
bathing season (September 2019).

I should imagine this will cause total traffic  chaos as the EM526 road is   a  very very busy road, it's  a cut through to Albufeira from Marintenda on  the EN125. I feel sorry for the businesses in Branqueira village and those in  Pata de Baixo too, I'm sure they will suffer the trauma/chaos  of it all.
