I know that during the uncharacteristically dry weather in January that there was concern about the reservoir levels on the Algarve. How are things looking now with the recent rainfall?

Not enough probably to make a big difference, although the weeds and cactii in the garden out back seemed to have liked it. The big reservoirs were said to be down to 25% capacity. Compulsory measures to save water are being considered for fear that the supply may actually run out. That may include no water in pools.
Problem around here is that 99% of the rainfall goes straight into the drains and out to sea. Around 3" of rain fell between Thursday and last night. That which doesn't goes to the recycling plant but cannot be used for human consumption. |
