The only sea tour in the country will connect Marina de Albufeira to Praia do Peneco

It is one of the most important planned investments of the Marina of Albufeira, but it should only advance in time of the summer of 2018: a walk on the sea of 400 meters, that will connect the Marina to the Beach of the Peneco. The work is valued at 4 million euros.

"We are working together with the Chamber to create a promenade on the sea that connects Albufeira Marina to Praia do Peneco. We are talking about a very short distance of 400 meters, but that, coming through the streets of Albufeira, it becomes very difficult to move between the center and the marina due to the rugged morphology. This tour will allow these people to circulate, "explained João Amaral, administrator of the Marina, in an interview with Sul Informação .

This tour "will be unique in the country and we are working to make it happen. We have already offered the project to the House and we are trying to arrange financing for its execution. It will be a way to get people around and get the marina closer to the city, "says João Amaral.

Regarding execution timings , the administrator says that "it does not depend only on us, the project has been done since 2010 and there is a lot of willingness to execute it, but we did not have capacity and the Chamber did not have either. We are now resuming the project. There have been opinions given in 2010 about the tour that we have already asked the APA to confirm whether the opinions are still valid or if we need to ask for new ones.

Therefore, "this year will be very difficult to have the tour, is very complicated, even if the work plan is nine months. Our goal is to have the tour ready in the summer of 2018, I do not know if it is the goal of the Chamber, if it is possible, but we are pressing it to be ready for the year, "João Amaral concluded.

it is planned to go around the bottom of the cliff from the ramp that is above the fishermen's area to where the lift is. That means only a very shallow hill up the ramp.

It should be an interesting construction job to watch. It's worth wondering whether it might be open in winter when the sea is often rather rough around there.

And will it displace the fishermen from those rocks I wonder?

If built, i suspect it may affect the trade of the cafes along that stretch Openedo and Iguana cafe for instance.

Iguana's flat beer may do for them before! Three times we've been, cracking position/view, but three times the beer was flat and had to be returned. ☹️
