I'm coming over in a couple of weeks and as I'm leaving 'erindoors at home I'll be looking things to do that I enjoy.  Elsewhere in the forum I've read of pub quizzes inthe Yorkshire Bar on Fridays and the Priory on Monday.
Are they running at the moment and at what time will they start?

a bit off topic from quizzes but can anyone remember Carlos Lara the guitar man & singer. We were in the Coyote Bar in St Eulalia just over a week ago and he was playing there. He recognised us from many years ago when we used to go & watch him  play at Chor Bar, Ancora & Carousel Bar (now Wild & Co) on strip. Sometimes  he used to bring his young son who was about 5 yrs old at the time and he used to play a  tune on the guitar also, couldn't believe when Carlos said his son was now 25yrs old, time flies.Smile

So if anyone fancies a quiz, Birinaite Bar in Rua Das Telecomunicacaos is the place to be - it is on the left hand side on the road from the Town Hall to the Top of the escalators, before you hit the fisherman's cottages. Almost opposite Alfredo's restaurant. Saturday and (please note the change of day) Tuesday at 10PM.

First one this Saturday, 30th March.

It's easy to find for anyone that has been to Floyds. As you get to the bottom of the hill from Floyds it's near enough straight across the main road. It's a lovely wee bar.

As the many friends of Mr and Mrs Algarveaddick would expect the 1st quiz in Biriante was an outstanding success.
All seats taken plus extra ones outside.
For the record team Northern Ireland came 2nd but there was another team from Norn Iron that came last. They thought Rolf Harris had a green duck called Orville.
Can't remember name of winning team, Scottish I think.

We called up 14TR. Sat night but did not stay long. The bar and outside was taken over by a stag party. The wife was a bit unnerved as the only female there she was pestered as I was getting our first drinks with lads, some of them worst for wear wanting to shake her hand and wanting high fives. It did not appear there was going to be a quiz so We drank or drinks and made our way to Angalus.

Ahem, google maybe??? Shocked. Some people do take a pub quiz far too seriously. I do like them myself but I do know some that have used modern devices to win a bottle of wine. Now coughing to win a £1m may be a different kettle of fishWink.

10 out 0f 10 on South American flags is no great deal. After all there are only 10 countries to choose from and at least seven of the flags are very well known so guessing three is not that hard. Not bragging or anything but I would have got all 10 also. South pacific flags are in my opinion the hardest to recognise.
