Some being lined up including Championship teams Birmingham City, Wolves and Huddersfield from around 10th July. As usual, nothing will be confirmed until the ink is dry on the contracts. However some games will be behind closed doors. As usual, you will be the first to hear.

As for local teams, pre season matches are rarely advertised and often played behind closed doors to reduce costs.

Benfica will play two friendly matches against Flamengo [7.30] and Villarreal [7.45] on July 11 and 17, both at the Algarve Stadium, the Lisbon football club announced today.

No info on ticketing, as yet.

Tickets for both matches can be obtained via the MEO Blueticket website or app as from tomorrow, 21st June. They will not be sold at the stadium on the day.

Anyone planning to go, please be aware that, in the evening, there is no public transport at the stadium or anywhere nearby. You must make your own arrangements.

Sporting v Celtic Tuesday 14th July ko 17h30 at the Algarve Stadium. Have not yet found ticket information. A journey by train or bus may be possible depending on where you are, but there will be a 15 minute walk from the nearest station or bus stop. Please ask here if you need any information. Most people will of course drive. Car parking area is huge, but will be very busy.

To clarify that the Éstadio da Nora is the ground of Ferreiras FC, located about three miles outside Albufeira. On a Friday morning, there's easy access by bus or Uber from Albufeira itself if you don't have a car.
