hi, I'm off to get some €s in a few days and I've been reading some conflicting reports of how much to budget for per day ... as we've not been for 3 years :( I've taken reviews with a pinch of salt some saying  they have paid €7 for a pint of superbock and piri piri as much as €10  in old town !!! I'm well aware that prices have gone up due the sign of the times we live in at the moment any first hand advice would be appreciated thanks !.
In previous years we've put €50pp a day in the kitty give or take or take based on B+B,  want to make sure we take enough cash as we don't like using cards cheers ( 10 day stay)

€3 - €3,50 a pint of San Miguel in bars where us local old miseries gather. €5,75 for a 'large beer' ie 40cl glass at Balaia Golf Club, which is top end to my mind. Any one stupid enough to pay €7 deserves mockery.

Prices are going up, like they are everywhere, so you might need 10% more than 3 years ago.

Well Tom, Mockery...that's a beautiful word I haven't heard in a long time. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

Prices are still very reasonable especially when you compare to cities in the UK, as long as you stay away from Bar Street and The Square for your socialising.

I would say 100 per day is a good enough amount to budget but what I would advise is to start using a card. I use Apple Pay on my phone for all my grocery shopping and a lot of restaurants. You always get the best possible rate available from your credit card company. We’ve been doing this for a few years now. But remember, not all bars will accept card but most do.

If you dont mind Sagres - Fat Cats at the Marina does a pint (yes, a pint, in a cold glass!) for €2.50, all day.

Beware Irish Jacks at the marina - a "large" beer for €4
