hi all, our first visit in exactly 3 years is looming and can't wait... have any new places popped up in that time that are worth a try around old town, not in the square as we find those to be touristy/not authentic and overpriced :) thanks

Opened last week, Valenza's Bar in Rua Fernão Magalhães on Cerro Branco, next to restaurant Adega do David. Owner is Dom Valenza who has the Arte Bar until a couple of years ago. Not sure of opening hours though.

There have been a few closures, but I don't keep a list!
