Better have a separate item. It rained fairly hard here yesterday for an hour or so.
Dull and cloudy this morning. Heatwave? Pah! 18º at 0830 local time, max 24º Set to be so for the rest of the week. Woodland areas still closed because of fire risk.

A cool night here, down to 17º. A nice day ahead, plenty of sunshine, light winds but still only 25º at best. Signs prohibiting access to woodlands etc were being renewed and replaced yesterday.

Bit cloudy today, 25º, good weather for a bike ride. Most of the woodland bike trails etc still closed off because of the fire risk - reported in local media to be the driest July since 1958. Some areas may be re-opened this weekend.

Another cloudy start to the day. 19º at 0830am, forecast 24 or 25º. Not quite the summer weather the visitors were expecting, but pleasant enough.
Should be much hotter next week.

Still quite cool here, down to 17º last night. Currently 19º at 0835am, forecast 25º today. Should be hotter next week until Thursday, when heavy rain is expected!

Still not very warm here, temperature fell to 17º last night and I needed the duvet! Should be a nice day today, a bit windy maybe, maximum 25º. Seems like some of the woodland has been opened up for biking, so off to get some much needed exercise.

Cloudy again this morning, forecast is for 27º. Inland, away from the sea breeze, they are expecting 36 - 40º today with everyone nervously looking for smoke in the forests. Several nutters have been arrested this past few days for starting fires deliberately.

Turned out a reasonable day yesterday but rather windy later. Hotter expected today, 29º on the cards. All woodland and forested areas are closed for the weekend because of extreme fire risk.

Temperature today expected to hit 29 or 30º.
There was a small woodland fire a few miles to the south of here
yesterday. Wind took the smoke away from town and no adverse effect on the whole. Picture from local fire service. About 30 hectares (75 acres) were burned before it was put out.

It was so windy at times yesterday that the very fine sand off the beach was being whipped up into little sandstorms. Must do wonders for the stuff inside people's houses. Temperature hit 34º yesterday, expecting a similar situation today. All woodlands, bike trails, picnic areas etc remain closed, officially anyway. There does not seem to be any actual enforcement.

Tropical kit may now be worn. Apparently it becomes tropical if the night-time temperature does not fall below 20º, which last night it did not. Expecting 34º today by the coast. Even a few miles inland, they could be having 40ºC especially in the towns because of heat radiated from walls, roads and car park surfaces.

Another roasting day forcast, 22º at 0845am, rising to 34º later, maybe hotter. Worse thing is there is no wind. Locals and visitors are making the most of it. An abrupt change in the weather is expected from Sunday, with several days rain seeming likely - and very necessary!

Well, hereabouts rain is expected from Sunday for several days, desperately needed here as well with the fires to be properly put out, plus some villages have almost no water, the pipes are dry.
The driest July they say since modern records began.

Hooray for rain in Albufeira! It's going to be doing that around here tonight and tomorrow.
There's already a 10ºC drop in temperature, from 38º yesterday to 'only'
28º expected today, with even lower temperatures forecast for tomorrow
and the week to come.

Bordeaux - horrible grey, drizzily, morning after a night of thundery showers, just timed right to stop you going back to sleep. Temperature at 0900 is 19º, might get 24º later. A full 14º cooler than yesterday!

Travelled to the seaside yesterday for some fresh air and rent a bike to get rid of a few kilos. It is cloudy and 22º. Seems it should be a bit warmer towards the weekend.

Got yesterday wrong, but so did the official forecast! Thunderstorm for around 30 minutes mid morning yesterday. Very wet! There was some more rain during the night. Cloudy this morning, 21º at 0845 and very humid. Expecting a high of 27º today and about the same for the next few days.

Warmer than yesterday, 21º at 0845 and it should be a nice day with a maximum 25º. It's warming up towards the weekend when 33º is forecast, but I shall be on my way by then. Big problem with mosquitos Sunday and Monday. Worst they recall for many years. A lot of rain in July has left ditches and canals full of stagnant water, ideal breeding grounds. And they are big as well.
