Hello all.

Myself and a few friends are going to the Old Town in 3 weeks and we cannot wait. We've been to Albufeira a few times before but always to the end with the 'Strip', but we've walked to the Old Town and know it to be a lovely place.
Found this site when looking for a live webcam of the area and happy to see the beaches looking glorious.

Reading other posts on here I'm now well aware of Arte bar and the drink/meal offer every Sunday which looks amazing.

Are there any other bar/restaurants in the area which run something similar anyone would be happy to recommend? We enjoy a drink so point us towards a pub crawl entirely of happy hours running into each other would be sweet :)

Also, staying at Windmill Hill this time, any good experiences staying there?

Thanks for any help :)

Hello , the old town equally has a bar strip that has live music, cocktails and is very lively . There are numerous restaurants there and some excellent . We always go to Shalom 2 , think it’s now Mr Ribs, as much as you can eat and fall off the bone .All within easy walking distance from Windmill Hill . There are a few bars and restaurants within minutes of that complex in Cerro Grande .
Hope you all have a great holiday

The building work at Continente Modelo is well behind schedule. The supermarket is still open, but everything else is closed for several more weeks.

Original completion date was June but judging by what I saw on Monday, more like September!

The small supermarket near me does Vodafone/Meo/NOS top ups.
Might be worth checking if there's anything closer than Guia (unless you're going shopping anyway!!)

My local supermarket has a red & white sign outside saying "Payshop".
When I google "Payshop near me" there's SPAR Paraíso Supermercado (near Hotel Paraiso) and Tabacaria Números Animados (near McDonald's)
However, my local shop in Pateo doesn't appear as an option, so you may find something closer to you, that's also not listed - just look out for the red & white sign!!!

It looks like Payshop is part of CTT, so I assume you can top up at a post office - in case you have one nearby.

Also my local one only takes cash for top ups...not sure if that's what the shopkeeper prefers, or if it's a Payshop requirement!!??!!
