There has been movement on the Atlantic Cups site:....

http://www.theatlanticcup.com/fixtures/2022" rel="nofollow - http://www.theatlanticcup.com/fixtures/2022

Dates in February are there but no teams as yet confirmed.

The tournament kicked off in 2011 and has been a regular fixture around the Algarve, barring the COVID years. Under normal circumstances the competitors are winter-breakers from all over Europe.

It will be instructive to see how many are able to travel and from where. And also what rules and regulations will apply if spectators are allowed.

Leep us updated please sir!

Will do my best, Tom.

COVID restricted crowds would be laughable in the context solely of this competition. I attended all the 'Finals' but one since inception ..... e achplayed at the EstAlgarve .......  in a 30k+ capacity facility I cannot recall any that attracted a crowd [excluding officials/team staff] of over a dozen. Plenty of room!

We shall see.

Best wishes to all on here/ over there at this time. John party

Up to seven entrants now with Zenit and a second from Sweden,  one more needed from somewhere. A few years back the organisers managed to cajole Farense in at the last minute to fill a gap.
No venues as yet.

Thanks. Providing we are allowed in and  some games are in Albufeira there might be some half decent football to watch.

One week to go and the tournament is clearer.

The final entrant is named, Brentford B are dropping in. This will be their Cup debut although I saw them when they visited several years ago during a Winter break to play a couple of friendly games.

The venues are almost complete, with seven games at the inaccessible Est Algarve, one at Bela Vista Parchal with just one at Albufeira [Feb 6th 1930hrs, Midtjylland {DEN} v Breidablik {ICE}......three are still TBC.

Let the fun commence!

Updated from the Brentford website. Their first two games are at Est Algarve ......

Supporters will be able to gain entry to the fixtures for 10 euros per game which can be paid on the gate. Anyone wishing to attend the Atlantic Cup this year will have to prove they have been double vaccinated unless medically exempt. If you are unable to present when asked to do so, entry to the stadium will be declined.

From my experience, @E10 per head, they will be lucky to raise enough to pay the geezer on the gate.

Thanks. I am freezing them off in darkest Kent with the joys of Dorking v Tonbridge to come tomorrow, followed by Eastbourne Borough v Tonbridge on Tuesday. No health paperwork required!

Just the one game today, over in Parchal, at Bela Vista:
Brøndby2V1Vålerenga

Date Posted: 06/February/2022 at 22:19
Up to date from yesterday and todays fixtures, both played in Cubsurs absence at Albufeira:
Halmstads BK1V2København
Midtjylland3 (4 Pens)V3 (5 Pens)Breiðablik UBK
If Brondby beat Brentford on Tuesday they will take one place in the final. Whoever wins the Zenit/Kobenhavn game on Thursday the other. Breidablick are still in with a shout should the others slip up.

Hi guys,

do you know where the teams are accommodating?
I am trying to know in which hotel or area is the Valerenga FC Club

The powers that be have decreed the remaining fixtures and have allocated venues. In my post above I forgot that one of their aims is to have all the teams play three different opponents [preferably from different countries {not always possible}}.

Albufeira has a fun-filled Friday coming up, with two games scheduled.

So we are at:

8 February 2022

Estádio Algarve, KO 15:00 (GMT)

Brentford BVBrøndby

8 February 2022

Estádio Algarve, KO 19:30 (GMT)

VålerengaVHalmstads BK

10 February 2022

Estádio Algarve, KO 15:00 (GMT)

KøbenhavnVFC Zenit

11 February 2022

Estádio Municipal de Albufeira, KO 11:00 (GMT)

Halmstads BKVBrentford B

11 February 2022

Estádio Algarve, KO 13:00 (GMT)

BrøndbyVFC Zenit

11 February 2022

Estádio Municipal de Albufeira, KO 16:00 (GMT)

Breiðablik UBKVKøbenhavn

11 February 2022

Estádio Municipal Bela Vista, KO 18:30 (GMT)

MidtjyllandVVålerenga

cpardu ...... sorry I have no idea on the accomodation arrangements.

The match scheduled to take place on February 10th between FC København and FC Zenit at Est Algarve will now be played behind closed doors at the request of both clubs. Only officials from both teams and the Atlantic Cup will be granted access.

Regrettably this does mean they is no access to fans, scouts, media to this match. Coverage will be exclusively with FC København, FC Zenit and the Atlantic Cup but without any live streaming or video highlights.

Very late change, the last fixture today [6.30pm]
MidtjyllandVVålerenga

has been shifted from Parchal to Albufeira.

So, three in a day, the groundstaff will have earned their groats. ClapClap

Time to round up the completed competition ..... FC ZENIT head north behind the imminent Ukrainian front carrying the ginormous trophy [it has to be easily three feet tall!].

Halmstads BK2V1Brentford B

... young Bs finished seventh of eight teams. They shouldnt be too disappointed.

Brøndby1V2FC Zenit

Breiðablik UBK3V4København

...the Icelanders were 2-0 up at half time, and would have been the champions had they hung on for the win.

Midtjylland3V1Vålerenga
