Quite a number are appearing, often fashioned from scrap or wire. This one is up on the old town hill near the Sant' Ana gate. It's an eagle grabbing a snake.

I will get some more if there is another sunny day!

I shall go on tour over the next few days and get some more. There are several in and around the old town in particular.

Lovely. The bird and snake are neat. And just at my favourite little bar.

Cool sculpture πŸ‘
I also love that little bar. Unique setting with lovely family running it for many years, who love chatting about the work that went into making it so beautiful.

I wonder (optimistically) if these are the result of a grant-aided competition for artists - or some other way to inject funding to support local artists? A long shot on my behalf, but it might explain the diversity of sculptures! Fair play to the Camara is that is the case.

They look permanent to me. Each one has a plaque with the title of the object and the name of the creator, plus a semi official looking logo. I will have a closer look.

Missed this one, on the esplanada at the Sol e Mar hotel. It's called Seated Woman. The plaques refer to a group called Arteserra, who can find on Facebook and Instagram.

I'm impressed by the public sculptures around town and also as you leave the airport.

There is this one on the path between the Bus Station and the Parque da Alfarrobeira, near the stadium. Something's missing surely, apart from the top of his head?
