And on 1st November. Noticeably quieter than even Wednesday. Some of the boat trips are still running but most of the small, fast, boats are now laid up.

I had not spotted that the children's play area has been improved.

Marina and fishing harbour today. Everywhere at the marina was open and getting busy just before lunchtime. There was a long queue for boat rides.

I didn't see it until I looked at the picture. There were a lot about as two or three fishing boats came in at around that time.

I thought I would share this video detailing the construction of the Marina starting back in 2000 four years before we hit the algarve. It's interesting to see the old cafe and lie of the land as construction progressed and I thank all those who contributed material to make it possible, feel free to share.

The video is Public, no restrictions and since your last I have tried the link on two tablets and my phone and all are working? Also the video has now had 18 views so it would seem maybe you are still seeing the old link or there is some other issue local to your system.

into Youtube search.

Work continues around the great wall. Some mysterious large black objects have been delivered and are behind the wall as per this view, but cannot be seen from this angle. Maybe I will go closer later.

The water feature has been turned off. Here are a few pictures taken this afternoon, nothing in particular but ought to be please those of you who cannot be here. It was moderately busy on a sunny afternoon, a few places were doing some business.

Some of you will recall that a section of the wall at the bottom of the hill going around the corner to the fishing harbour collapsed a few years ago. A bodged up repair was the best they did. Today a serious crane is in place hoisting men and equipment to re-seal the cliff face.

The marina was, predictably, all but deserted on Sunday afternoon. A couple of places were open and offering takeaways but there were no takers. The water feature has been turned off.

Peter, Monty and I were there the other day. We were taken aback at how it has come on over the last 12 years. The bottom level is now full of bars, cafes, restaurants (nearly all dog friendly too) and it was very busy. It had a very good vibe going on. We got talking to a cafe owner who said they had had a brilliant season and were staying open until New year. As for the properties, I cannot believe how many 1m + there are, who is buying them?

Heaven knows who is buying them,but it's certainly not the people who work in the restaurants and bars. More going up all over the place. I took a walk down there Monday afternoon.

The crane belongs to this one, right down the far end beyond the wall.

This land is being cleared between the marina and the two rows of new builds where a little smallholding stood.

The marina itself was quiet. There was even a duck swimming happily around. I wonder how many of these boats ever move?
