well this should have been our second holiday in Albufeira this year, but with covid and us being in our seventies we have thought it wise not to travel this year.funny that when i looked at ryanair flights from Edinburgh to Faro for our weeks it was £13 out and £24 return when ever would we see those prices but now when we are unable to travel.just like to thank Tom and all who contribute photos and news of what is going on in and around Albufeira so we can keep up to date till we can safely return again.

I could have got return flights for £20 to Faro but this is obviously due to the English quarantine stipulations.
Had to follow the numbers due to work so had a week in Corfu ( returned home today ). Had a nice relaxing week but Corfu didn’t grab us as a place to to return too. But, I have to say the travel side was brilliant! Manchester airport was very quiet, everybody was sticking to the rules, planes wasn’t full, wouldn’t have a problem traveling again..... hopefully to Albufeira soon! Supposed to be cruising the Caribbean for a week and a week in Barbados late December but not sure what’s happening yet, getting told the cruise side won’t happen but the German side of the company is sailing at the moment ( saw it docked in Corfu).... let’s see what happens. |

I don't think you can rely on anything at the moment with this pandemic. Jet2 have been cancelling their flights and package holidays and also Easyjet too. Ryanair seems to be the only one at the moment who arn't cancelling but their flight schedules from different airports has been drastically cut and also flight times/days changed for those who have already booked. Sad times ahead unfortunately.

It is certainly not wise to plan anything ahead. Things can change at a moment's notice. Last night the old town was reasonably busy with restaurants and bars open more or less as normal, but next week? It is almost certainly going to be a long, dark and fairly miserable winter.

A cruise? Ideal conditions for spreading infection. Good luck! You wouldn't catch me on the Renfrew Ferry these days.

It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase 'As pretty as an Airport' appear. Douglas Adams
