Went along there to the airport last Saturday - looks almost finished bar a bit of tidying up & landscaping

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Not sure when you were last over but the almancil bypass has now got its own bypass!!! To incorporate the new ikea. when coming FROM airport as you are travelling along en 125 dual carriage way you would, after about 4kms, keep right to bear off to almancil and albufeira. now you keep left heading past the stadium and there is a new road off to right signed albufeira and portimao which goes for 3kms and drops you back onto 125 near almancil

Yes very handy that new section, cuts out the worst bit of the 125 and probably saves you 5 - 10 minutes. Got to the aiport in just over 20 minutes last Saturday instead of the usual 30 minutes.

Thanks all. Have checked on google earth Pete and it shows the early stages of the new section, so I will have to take it slow or end up on the motorway.

Just an secondary thought. I'm clear about the new section road setup coming from airportIt, it's just a right hand slip road. What's the layout going back. Is it a underpass or flyover taking you onto the new section. TIA

No slip road on way back. Just follow the road.

How have they merged the new section into the old? The section that goes to the Almancil town centre turn off. The East -West lane I can't seem to grasp if there's no flyover or underpass. Or is it a give way T junction

there are 2 turnings off 125 to almancil and the new road starts 600m before the faro side entrance to almancil which is now a slip road to right. so the new road is now the 125. the new road goes under the road bringing traffic from faro along the new road

Pete, as I'm 100% sure you're doing you're best, well intentioned as I know you are my friend, but no, not a firkin clue ! Lol! Then again, I assume all reading are reasonably savvy, and so we should sort the new layout by following the signs... then again, Portuguese signs.. ?

Simple......as Pete says, there is a new turn off to the right with sign clearly showing Albufeira just past the Stadium. This means you forget about the right turn off towards Almancil and N125 which was before the Stadium and go straight on for a couple of minutes and you will see the new sign. On the way back to the airport there are no turn offs at all, just follow the new part of the road. Better explanation?? Probably not.

Yes, simple. Obviously taken before the work was finished but the brown line is where this new bit of road is. The Stadium can be seen on the right and the new exit road is clearly visible just past it.
