From the road that goes past Kadoc to the traffic lights North of Montechoro/Oura, the EN 125 will be closed from Monday 9th May to 15th July. Repairing road and also the bridges which go above the railway line.

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Traffic on EN526  will be horrendous its bad enough under normal conditions. What a bad time to do this when season is just underway, plus all other roadworks on 125 as well . Whoever planned this wants sacking goodstyle.

This is not a problem if the A22 tolls are lifted for the duration.

*ducks flying pig*

I feel sorry for the business's along that stretch too - I wonder if they will be compensated?

Parliament has approved a 'reduction in tolls' on several motorways including the A22. Quite a debate it seems. I cannot see any details of the amount of the reduction or when it will come into effect. Some parties wanted tolls to be abolished and the road maintenance charges levelled against an increased general taxation, especially concerning the A22 and the 'never ending ordeal' of the EN125 roadworks. Didn't win.

On a related note that stretch of road is the one used by the Albufeira to Loulé bus, which I know some people do take to visit the town and especially the Saturday market. There is, predictably, no information about the effect of this road closure on the bus route and times.

Also, it's to be noted that the railway bridgeworks will only take place at night so as to maintain the train service to and from Lisbon. The current will be turned off while work is undertaken

Am I right in thinking that they are reporting an upgrade in the lights at the Ferreiras/Albufeira turn off as part of this work? If so (and I may misunderstand the situation) would it not be more sensible to install a roundabout while the opportunity is there? After all, they are putting in roundabouts that appear to go nowhere just east of the Vilamoura turn off?

People were asking about the new gantries on the en 125. The one just outside Almancil has been fitted with a digital display - similar to the ones on the A22 and the lorry/crane has several other panels loaded.

Now you mention it there was something going on there, which I half noticed on my little walk yesterday. A big crane was in evidence but wasn't moving, but it was around 615pm. There were also temporary barriers along the hard shoulder as you go up towards the railway bridge.
