Hi. My husband and I and our 9 year old son hope to move permanently to Albufeira in June next year. We have all started taking Portugese lessons. I can't seem to find a list of local primary schools for my son as we would like to register him as soon as possible.. I would appreciate any help with this process!! Thanks

Make contact with them. If your son is still 9 when you get here, he would I think go into the 1º ciclo which covers children for 6 - 9 years. The 2º ciclo is 10 and 11 year olds, the 3º ciclo (junior high if you like) is 12 to 14. Information for those was harder to find but I did come across this Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AEAlbufeiraPoente/

However, all being well, someone will read this who has been in a similar situation and can help more directly. Albufeira is a big place, several miles across, so which school would be best will depends on where you actually will be living.
