I have the full document from the council, in Portuguese, explaining what they are doing. In a nutshell, most of the roads outlined in red will be getting block pavements and/or parking. The main Strip, from top to bottom, will be pedestrianised so level road and pavement in blocks with access for buses, emergency and residents/deliveries. Several options exist for the junction of the Strip and the dual carriageway - a tunnel for cars, a bridge, a viaduct or a roundabout.
Work due to start at North end around December this year. Tried to upload a screenshot of the map but no option other than a link to the pic online. |
