Not many unusual delays yesterday amid yet another French air traffic control strike.
There are no more strikes currently on any lists I can see, but that one yesterday was called at 48 hours notice. Air France will be on strike for a week at the end of the month. Pau hospital is on strike tomorrow. Postmen in the Loiret department are on strike, as are the street cleaners in Rennes, the bus drivers in Bordeaux and the A&E wards at Caen hospital. Perhaps the military exercises were in preparation for a few bombing runs over the strikers.

And pro-brexiters think they are going to let us keep our immigration officials on their soil, and they will continue to try and stop refugees from getting across the channel... yeah, right...

In the circumstances Andrew, I think I would have quite happily accepted the 45 minute delay.

Last Friday we flew back, all great as the baggage handlers strike was cancelled, ready to push back five minutes early and the Captain announced "Apologies but our slot has been moved back 45 minutes due to the French, no, they're not on strike, they've just advised they are carrying out military exercises right in our filed flight path so we have to hold"!
Don't you just love 'em!

If it's Tuesday it must be another French ATC strike
From Easyjet website We would like to inform customers that there will be a French General Strike, which will begin on the evening of the 4th July and last until the evening of Tuesday 5th July. As 65% of easyJet’s flights fly over France, this will have an impact on our flights to and from French airports, as well as those flying over French airspace. Just like other airlines we are subject to French air traffic regulations, we therefore expect delays and cancellations tomorrow. |

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

It's definitely not open at the moment & I agree with JJ that it's unlikely to ever open again
