The Liga NOS, Portugal's top flight, will resume on 3rd June, slightly later than originally planned. All matches (as they always have been) will be shown live on TV. Portimonense are first up on 3rd June, at home to Gil Vicente ko 1900hrs.

There is no suggestion that spectators will be admitted. So if bars are not open, people will no doubt gather in numbers at homes who have SportTV. No suggestion either that any game will be available free to air.

Throughout the programme almost all games will be at night, with staggered kickoff dates and times. Only on a few occasions will any two games be played at the same time. There will be two games a week for each club, with the final round of fixtures over the weekend of 25th and 26th July.

The top league here resumes on Wednesday with two games, behind closed doors of course, not that it makes much difference to most teams!

1900hrs Portimonense v Gil Vicente
2115hrs Famalicão v FC Porto

Both live on Portuguese channel SportTV if you can get it. Portimonense badly need the points. They are next to bottom and six points adrift of safety with eight games remaining.

Signs of life over in Portimao this evening.
A 49th minute rocket shot by Lucas Fernandes gave the home team a much needed 1-0 win over Gil Vicente.
They are still in the bottom two, with another home game next, on the 10th.
However that's against Benfica [will take a miracle for any points to be won from that, I feel]!

I didn't watch the game but a good result.  Later last night surprise package Famalicão beat FC Porto 2-1, cutting Porto's lead at the top to 1 point. Benfica play tonight and will go top if they win.

Well, Portimonense 2-2 Benfica.

At halftime, 2-0 down, I wouldn't have put much on the locals against the table toppers. But a generally lacklustre Benfica nodded off and overall Portimonense deserved the draw. Their second was a 30yard worldie, not dissimilar to last weeks winner against Gil Vicente.

Still plenty to do as there is a gap of 5 points to bridge across the remaining eight games.

FreeSports TV coverage here in the UK was excellent btw.

Indeed, excellent result for Portimonense but still lots of ground to make up. If Paços de Ferreira should win at Sporting on Friday the gap will be 8 points.

The next game for Portimonense is a trip to the Azores to play Santa Clara, next Tuesday evening.

Well I'm blowed. We watched Freesports internet, and the game just got stuck at 19 mins 30 seconds. We tried time and again, logged in and out, switched the PC on and off, nothing would make it work. It wasn't the internet speed - the screen said there was a broadcast interruption. So annoyed when we found out Portimonense had made such a great comeback.

No problem at all with the Porto game later...

No sign of Portimonense games for the rest of this month on FreeSports. Unsurprisingly they will only show the 'big' teams, Benfica, Porto and Sporting [nowt for Braga].

The UK games are starting soon, with wall to wall TV coverage, and Portimonense having played all the top teams, the only [very] faint chance of seeing them will be on the last weekend in July. Home to Aves which could be a 'loser gets relegated' bunfight.

Fingers crossed they can stay up...….. derbies will be slated with Farense!

Santa Clara 1-1 Portimonense, this evening.

The sort of result the locals would have settled for earlier in the season, but games are running out and theres a sizeable points gap til the safe league positions.

And it could have been better. A goal to the good and playing versus 10 men going into the last 10 minutes...…. only to concede the equaliser from a penalty. Woe, woe and thrice woe!

Home to fourth-bottom Maritimo next, on Monday next week. A win would be handy.

What I was thinking. A point is all very well but three points a lot better in their situation. Monday night is a must win I think.

Paços de Ferreira, one place above Portimonense, play tonight and at home to Belenenses. That's one they could win and if they do it would make the gap above Portimonense seven points. The Algarvians certainly don't want to be leaving it to their last two games, which will be against Paços de Ferreira and bottom club CD Aves.

A blow for Portimonense last night. Paços de Ferreira won their game, so the gap between them and Portimonense is seven points.

The next game for Portimonense will be on Monday night at home to Marítimo. who are also seven points ahead of them.

Last night - Portimonense 3 - 2 Marítimo three vital points for the Algarvians.

The visitors had a man booked then sent off after 30 minutes, probably helped.

Next game for Portimonense is away at Famalicão next Tuesday night. That will be a hard one.

The highlights are up on the Club website [tho it looks like they've had some tech difficulties]. Worth watching if only to see the comedy of defensive errors that led to the opening goal.
No sign of the sending-off, Tom?!…….. my site says yellow on 30', with that player then being subbed off at halftime.
