Private aircraft are positively flooding into Faro. An anonymous large Bombardier Global 5000 ($50 million worth in case you are wondering) has just passed overhead, closely followed by a Tecnam P2006T light charter from Cascais operated by Sevenair. That's the way to travel. Otherwise the skies are empty south of Lisbon, except for someone on either on a joyride or a training flight. |

You've either been brushing up on your aircraft recognition during lockdown or you're using Flightradar 24 or similar ✈

Flightradar 24! I missed that Luxair brought in a plane on Sunday following Swiss Edelweiss whose flight came in last Thursday. They were the first commercial flights into Faro for 2 months. A Ryanair flight from Stansted is due in at 2330 tonight, the next one after that will be Transavia from Amsterdam at 0905 on Thursday.

Andrew, Flightradar24 have been showing flights as scheduled’ on most of their boards for ages even though it’s quite obvious the flights are cancelled.
I trust you are well and still buying antiques. X

Yes, flights are being added late in the day. None due today, four now coming on Thursday according to the official airport website: Transavia with two flights from Amsterdam; unknown airline from Katowice and Edelweiss Air from Zürich. So the Dutch, Poles and Swiss can come on holiday but not the British! Flight Radar is indeed showing mythical times at the moment.

The flights were supposed to be released on the 2nd June but there were technical problems so they changed it to today, the 4th of June. However there were more technical problems today so the release has now been changed again, to the 10th.

Faro airport flights - today 1 from Amsterdam, arrived. That's all. Algarve skies are currently completely empty, the return flight to Amsterdam is now well on its way north. Tomorrow, two coming in from Amsterdam and 1 from Luxembourg. I did see a couple of private planes coming in yesterday.
